BE INDEPENDENT: SUPPORT SMALL THIS CHRISTMAS

If you didn’t manage to blitz your Christmas list on Black Friday (FYI, I bought nada and yes, I’m finally dropping the C bomb!) then hopefully this blog post might give you some cool gifting ideas.

Everyone featured here is a small business – the majority being a one-woman-band – and they’re also (get this!) REALLY, REALLY LOVELY PEOPLE, IN REAL LIFE TOO!

Our crazy fast consuming habits have been a topic of convo of late – and  rightly so.

However, I don’t believe that boycotting the big brands is the solution.

Neither is cancelling Crimbo altogether and viewing it purely as an exercise in commercial exploitation!

There are ways we can be more considered.

Buying from a small business this Christmas is just one way of supporting the independents; the crafters, the self-employed, the creators and makers, the dreamers who will all do a happy little dance whenever you buy from them.

Here are 10 of my faves PLUS there’s some exclusive discount codes too!

Keep those dreamers dancin’ and happy shopping, folks!

  • I didn’t buy anything on Black Friday except a printer that we actually needed. I’m not the slightest bit interested in Manic Monday (aka Cyber) either. It’s a bloody wind up and actually hurts small businesses by forcing them to cut their tight margins further. Sure I’ll buy something on sale if I really need it but let’s be honest these sales are all year round now. Why go crazy on a specific day, FOMO?
Thanks for doing this fab research and sharing with us FT.
Its such a wonderful and eclectic mix!

    • I’ve bought one thing actually, a couple of photobooks – I am terrible at not printing out our family pictures

      FT xoxo

  • You’ve smashed it! What a great way to boost brand awareness. I can’t thank you enough for including me. And as always love your blog…x
