UNDER THE RADAR STYLE PICKS
As a stylist, I’m in the fortunate position of being privée to a LOT of amazing fashun brands. Some of them are a bit under the radar and aren’t as well known as the big guns. When I discover these brands, it’s like finding an Aladdin’s cave. Lucky for you, I am useless at keeping secrets, so this blogpost is a sneak peek into my more recent favourite three.
I’ve been busy prepping for a big – top secret- photoshoot you see.
My job as a stylist is to source the wardrobe for the model (or celebrity in this case).
That means contacting all of my PR contacts to beg, borrow and steal (OK, not the latter) clothes, shoes, accessories – THE LOT!
It’s a mammoth task, it’s EXHAUSTING but one that I LOVE as I get to preview new collections before they hit the shops and discover lots of under the radar brands, too.
This first one I’m about to introduce, I’m actually familiar with but up until this week, I’d not really paid that much attention to, TBH.
Double-fashun-kiss and say ‘Hiya’ to Own the Look.
If like me, you’re drawn to the different, then be prepared to fall really hard for this awesome online site.
The brands are edgy, the cut of the clothes are off-beat and it all just feels a bit indie and unique.
This is not an AD, folks – I just had to share what I think is a bit more of an edgy, grown-up ASOS.
Take a look for yourself… and get ready to drool.
(You’re welcome!)

OK. Next up is a brand that I’d never heard of before until I was trying to source quality workwear boots for the shoot I’m prepping.
Allow me to introduce you to Nubikk…
If you’re on the hunt for a good pair of quality boots this season, especially in white, gold or a pair of timeless lace ups – this could be the answer to your fashun prayers.
Walk this way, people…

And now finally, a BEAUTIFUL brand that speaks to my hippy soul…
I am so excited about this boutique label and their wanderlust screen printed products.
Whether you’re wafting around the house or wearing one of their kimonos on the beach, the prints are just so unique and dreamy.
If you don’t believe me, here’s the pretty proof from One Hundred Stars…

For me, I’d love to belt up and layer one of their floaty gowns over a pair of jeans, with a skinny rib polo neck underneath with ankle boots and a chain strap bag.
After all, kimonos aren’t just for summer you know, they’re for Christmas, too, innit! *nudge, nudge, wink, wink

Over and out lovelies. Until next week…

Love this Fatima – now I’m going to get sidetracked looking all these labels and websites up! When I am supposed to be working! xx
Haha! They’re so lush, I couldn’t not share and it’s always good to leg up the smaller brands, innit?

Damn you Woman! I’m totally enamoured with One Hundred Stars….I’m just deciding between the Paris map and the Storks print 😉
I know – aren’t they just amazing! Totally wanna layer one up. I’m thinking Paris…

Being a very small start up it’s good to see you supporting independent brands. As for that white dress that’s exactly what I was looking for over the summer. I’ve looked at their page and there are awesome. Thanks for bringing them to my attention.
I couldn’t agree more. There are so many independent labels and brands that are doing their own thing but the market is soooo busy and saturated, it’s so tricky to get a look in amongst the big brands. Glad you like this.
